“The mission of the Code Officials of Arkansas is dedicated to advancing the safety, integrity, and quality of construction in our communities. We provide comprehensive education and training for building, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing inspectors, equipping them with the knowledge and tools to uphold codes and standards that ensure safe and sustainable construction practices throughout Arkansas."
Our Purpose:
The purpose of the Code Officials of Arkansas shall be:
To promote the adoption of the family of International Codes®, the International Building Code, the International Residential Code, the International Fire Code, the International Mechanical Code, and other related codes and supplements thereto.
To promote uniformity in building regulation through the family of International Codes® and to encourage uniformity in application and enforcement of such codes.
To study, review, and debate the principal fundamentals of safety in building laws and ordinances.
To advise and assist code enforcement officials in administration of building laws and ordinances.
To keep the membership informed of local, state, and national items concerned with codes.
To assist the membership through code interpretation and technical information.
To promote the objectives of the international Code Council.
To perform such other functions that is deemed relevant to, or desirable for the attainment of these objectives.
To take hold by bequest, devise, gift, grant, purchase, lease, or otherwise any property, real, personal, tangible or intangible, or any undivided interest therein, without limitation as to amount or value; to sell, convey, or otherwise dispose of any such property and invest, reinvest, or deal with the principal income thereof in such a manner as, in the judgment of the Directors, will best promote the purpose of the corporation without limitations, except such limitations, if any, as may be contained in the instruments under which such property is received.
To manage its internal affairs in desired manner so long as the provision of the Arkansas Non-Profit Act or other laws are not violated; and to do any and all things necessary, convenient, useful, or incidental to the attainment of its purposes as fully and to the same extent as natural persons lawfully might or could do, so long as it is consistent with the provisions of the, Arkansas Non-Profit Act and this article.
