About ICC Code Officials of Arkansas Chapter

Our Purpose:

  • Promote the adoption and use of the International Codes®, including the International Building, Residential, Fire, Mechanical, and related codes.

  • Encourage uniformity in building regulations and consistent application and enforcement of codes.

  • Support public safety through the study and discussion of sound building laws and ordinances.

  • Assist code enforcement officials with the administration, interpretation, and application of codes.

  • Keep members informed on local, state, and national code-related issues.

  • Provide technical information and code interpretation to support members in their work.

  • Promote the mission and objectives of the International Code Council (ICC).

  • Conduct activities and functions necessary to support and advance these goals.

  • Operate and manage the organization in compliance with the Arkansas Non-Profit Act while responsibly managing property and resources to fulfill our mission.

The mission of the Code Officials of Arkansas is dedicated to advancing the safety, integrity, and quality of construction in our communities. We provide comprehensive education and training for building, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing inspectors, equipping them with the knowledge and tools to uphold codes and standards that ensure safe and sustainable construction practices throughout Arkansas.

Become A Chapter Member

Memberships available for the calendar year are as follows:

Professional Membership

A designated representative of a governmental unit or agency engaged in the administration or formulation of laws and ordinances relating to building construction including but not limited to.

Industry Membership

Members shall be a individual or firm, incorporated or unincorporated, engaged in the practice of architecture, engineering, private third-party inspection services, manufacturing or sale of products, materials, services related to construction or building regulations.

Honorary Membership

An individual who has rendered outstanding and meritorious services in the furtherance of the objectives of this Chapter and who shall be proposed by the Board of Directors and confirmed by a majority vote at any regular meeting.

Retired Membership

Any former Professional member who is retired.

Student Membership

An individual enrolled in classes or a course or study in Building Inspection Technology or related fields of instruction and not eligible for Professional Membership.
